Here are a few of the more frequently asked questions:

A: Assisted living facilities were created to assist people with their activities of daily living in an environment that allows them to live as independently as possible for as long as possible. Assisted living bridges the gap between one’s home or apartment and a nursing home. It allows people to live independently with the convenience of having licensed nursing staff available 24 hours a day if needed. Personalized service plans are created to address the specific care needs of each resident and are updated as their individual needs or conditions change over time.

A: Assisted living facilities assist seniors who have the ability to care for themselves except for a few activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing or managing their medications. Nursing homes provide 24-hour care to those seniors who have acute medical conditions and are unable to care for themselves.

A: No. All apartments are rented at Morning Star Village. There is no long-term contract to be signed. A small deposit is required to reserve an apartment or be added to our waiting list.

A: Morning Star Village does offer respite stays, subject to apartment availability.

A: No, Morning Star Village is home to our residents and they are encouraged to furnish their apartments with their personal furniture and decor.

A: Absolutely! A great aspect of an assisted living community is the level of interaction among residents. There are organized social groups, outings and events to promote socialization, as well as exercise groups to enhance physical well-being.
